Lilo Fore Clinic

We are pleased to offer three days of educational delight with Lilo Fore. The clinic will be held in Lexington, Kentucky at Wild Haven Farm . There is a round pen available for lunging if needed.

Details: Participants must be current KDA members. There are 7 available ride spots for each day lasting approximately 45 minutes with introductions and cool down ride in review. Members will have first come first serve to registration at $200. Limit of two rides per rider- if clinic has not filled by May 30th, then rides will be available for non-members for $250.

RSVP: You must add your ride(s) to the KDA shopping cart and complete check out process, confirm email confirmation receipt. One ride is equivalent to 1 item. Important: days are listed as individual items. Limit two rides per rider i.e. per horse & rider. Refunds only allowed if your ride can be filled from a wait list.

KDA Members Auditing is Free (SPACE IS LIMITED!), $20 per day for non-members. Bring your own chairs, outside food and drink allowed.

If you have a cee coach to please bring it, if not please bring a head set to connect to one.

Kim Gentry Bit Fitting Clinic

June 17th - Belle Epoque in Lexington, KY

June 18th - Wanaja Farm in Goshen, KY

Kim Gentry is highly sought after for her unique clinics which provide riders with the ability to try many different bits and bridles in sessions guided by Kim. She works with riders one-on-one in a traditional clinic format and also welcomes student/trainer combinations enabling them to work comfortably as they would in a lesson.

The clinics are structured in a way so that they are educational and are ideal for a fun and beneficial barn clinics. They are great educational clinics for GMOs.

Kim works with Herm Sprenger, Neue Schule, Bomber, Trust and Myler bits. She has added Otto Schumacher, Bridle2Fit, Tota Comfort System, Passier and Schoekemoehle anatomic bridles to her clinics as she also believes that these bridles can significantly improve the comfort and the performance of many horses.

$40 booking fee

Fitting fee paid directly to Kim via Venmo, Zelle, check or cash.

$125 for Snaffle bridle

$225 for Double (1 snaffle bit included)

Four double or multiple bridles spots available. Four snaffle spots available at each venue.

Melissa Allen is coming to Goshen, KY on June 28-29! The clinic will be held at Alta Vista Farm/Jenn Boblitt Dressage.

8 rides/day. $200/ride KDA members.

If we have room, will open 1 week later for non KDA members at $260/ride.

Gail Matheus Clinic

Venue:

Marimac Farm, Lexington, KY

Information:

Join us April 12 & 13 at Marimac Farm in Lexington for a clinic with WDAA World Show judge, trainer, and rider Gail Matheus.

Gail is the WDAA Director of Judge and Member Education and a USDF Bronze & Silver Medalist - plus has her Bronze & Silver Musical Freestyle Bars. She  is also a USEF “R” Western Dressage Judge, including WDAA & AQHA World Shows, is a WDAA World Champion rider and trainer, and a USDF “r" Judge Applicant.

Participants are welcome to ride either classical or western dressage, or to bring their young horses for tips on presenting sport horses in hand.

Plan to stay for lunch on Saturday to hear Gail’s insights on best practices for recording rides for online showing.


$150 per ride/in-hand session, Limit 2 slots per rider per day (4 total). Auditors welcome.

Teresa Stewart Clinic

Venue:

Flying Cross Farm, Goshen, KY

Information:

Teresa is a highly accomplished "S" judge with distinctions in freestyle, young horse, and equitation. Her judging portfolio includes prestigious events such as numerous regional championships, the US Dressage Finals, and the Festival of Champions.

In addition to her judging achievements, Teresa has developed multiple horses through the FEI levels, earning her USDF Bronze, Silver, and Gold Medals. Among her most notable accomplishments is her partnership with My Rowan, her former event horse and the first horse she trained from First Level to Grand Prix.

Teresa is unique in the world of dressage because she is a coach, trainer, competitor, and sought-after judge. Teresa balances her time between judging, running a full-time training program, and competing her own horses.

Today, Teresa continues to contribute to the dressage community as a respected judge, trainer, and advocate for thoughtful and progressive horse training. She is also an active member of multiple USDF committees, as part of her commitment further shaping the sport's future.

Western Dressage Clinic: Cindy Butler

Venue:

Steeple Pointe Farm in La Grange, KY.

Information:

Cindy Butler of Caseyville, IL is the current President of Western Dressage Association of America (WDAA). Cindy received her bachelor’s degree in Equestrian Science and Business Administration from William Woods College.

Cindy has shown horses most of her life, competing in everything from park harness to pole bending as well as Western Dressage. She has earned multiple World Championship titles and high point awards in the show ring and on the trail. 

Cindy has managed horse shows, led equine 4-H, organized judging competitions, and served as President of several local and State equine associations. She trained horses and taught riding lessons for many years and still conducts Western Dressage Clinics around the country.

Cindy serves on the following USEF committees: the National Affiliates Advisory Group of the National Breeds and Disciplines Council, the National Breeds and Disciplines Council, and the Western Dressage Committee.  She works as an instructor in the WDAA Group Apprentice Judges’ Program and the WDAA Judges’ seminar and serves on many of WDAA’s committees.

KDA Ring Stewarding, Bit Checking, Scribing and Scoring Clinic

This year we are trying out a new sound system to hear each presenter and audience members better than ever.

What:

Four different presenters will cover every volunteer job we have in dressage shows. Susan Moran is a Technical Delegate, a rulebook whiz, and she will talk about bit checking and stewarding.

Maggie Metcalf is one of our veteran scribes. She will describe what it is like and what to expect. How to scribe in a fast paced environment.

Susan Posner is a small r judge who volunteers to come to this clinic and act as a judge in front of a video so you all can practice scribing. She answers questions and presents different scenarios.

Suzanne Richards is a long time scorer. She has a what to do and what not to do list to help you learn organization and rules.

Lunch, pizza and drinks will be provided.

Lilo Fore Riding Clinic

Originally from Germany, outside Dusseldorf, Liselotte (Lilo) Fore is the owner of “Sporthorse America” in Santa Rosa, California for which she has been honored for her major role in raising the quality of dressage training and horses to an international level. She served as an FEI 5 Star judge; in that capacity she has been a member of the Ground Jury for numerous international competitions such as the World Cup final in Las Vegas, Olympics, Pan American Games, and World Equestrian Games including the recent WEG in Normandy. She is among the founders and served as chair of the USDF Instructor-Trainer Certification Program. She is continuously involved in many educational programs for Dressage trainers, teachers and judges throughout the United States. Among countless other accolades and awards, in 2017, Lilo was inducted into the Roemer Foundation/USDF Hall of Fame for her contribution to the sport of dressage in the United States.

Opening date is May 1st at 7pm. 8 rides per day available at $200 per ride.

What:

Are you not feeling confident about volunteering at dressage horse shows? We cover every volunteer jobs and demonstrate how to be top-notch volunteer at dressage shows! We will have presenters for each areas and a scribe practice run.

Presenters are Maggie Metcalf for scribing, Susan Moran for bit checking and stewarding, Susan Posner for judging, Sheila Woerth for runners and finally but not the least, Suzanne Richards for scoring.

LUNCH WILL BE PROVIDED!

Domino’s Pizza will be delivered so your in-person RSVP is very important.

This year, 2024, we have a need for a very large number of volunteers for the Regional 2 Championship Dressage Show in September. Now is a great time to learn how to help put on the greatest dressage show USDF has ever seen.
